Assisted Suicides

I have mixed feelings on this- on the one hand, i would not want to be in constant pain, or want someone i loved to be in that situation either- however, i feel that this sort of
thing is open to abuse and that vulnerable people could be influenced by their relatives into making this kind of decision. I think having the tribunals is much better than having
a blanket law, as each case coud be judged individually, and rigorous investigations and counselling performed. However i think even with that family members can be unscrupulous and exert "undue influence" over peope. As a Catholic i know i am supposed to be against it full stop but it is one of those issues- like contraception- that i don't
share the Church's official view with. Having said that, Jem, I think dismissing people with Christian beliefs, however they differ from your own, as "the God squad" shows a
degree of religious intolerance, as I think people are entitled to their views.
